SUMMARY:  This bill would amend Code Section 20-2-212 under QBE to revise the provision passed last session that would prohibit educators who hold leadership degrees from being paid for that degree unless they are serving in a leadership position.  It would add to the “grandfather” ranks:

• An educator with leadership degree earned prior to July 1, 2010, or
• An educator who possessed:
  • A masters level leadership degree prior to July 1, 2012;
  • An education specialist level leadership degree prior to July 1, 2013; or
  • A doctoral level leadership degree prior to July 1, 2014.
• However, the educator must be or have been enrolled in such leadership program on or before April 1, 2009.
